Direct Support Professional
Direct Support Professionals provide services to children and adults with developmental disabilities, as well as the
elderly. They also provide assistance with living skills development, health maintenance, medication administration, personal care and
behavioral development. Direct Support Professionals work in a number of settings including group homes, day programs, home and community based services and vocational rehabilitation. Working under the direction of a Program Manager, Direct Support Professionals work to provide services that enrich the lives of those in need. An emphasis is placed on creating a family-like environment that encourages those with special needs to experience a full life. Direct Support Professionals assist with traditional daily and weekly activities and also advocate a fully integrated community life.
